This song is named after my Tarot birth card: the Star. In this song, I wanted to capture the feeling of looking up at the stars on a clear night and feeling strange relief at the realization of how small we are.
lyrics
Verse 1
I’m starstruck, and it seems to be
The universe brought you to me
From nowhere
Do I dare to question such a conspiracy?
Prechorus
Starlight, my eyes are reddened with tears,
Face is soaked to the bone
It’s midnight
The moon shines over my head
I’m alone and yet
Chorus
I feel like I have something to hold onto
Something real, after everything I’ve gone through
And it seems that while temperance is a virtue,
I knew I would never know any sort of rest
Until I found you
Bridge/Final Prechorus
Something is changing
The shadow of doubt starts to exit the mind
I’m slowly, but surely
Tuning into the divine
Final Chorus
And I feel like I have something to hold onto
Something real, after everything I’ve gone through
And it seems as if the universe unfurled
And brought forth my star and my world
